We work alongside partners to mobilize and engage target community members in the construction and management of boreholes and water pumps. In addition, we develop and distribute community sensitization materials focused on promoting proper sanitation and hygiene practices. These efforts aim to ensure sustainable access to clean water and improved public health through community involvement and awareness.
Our Water Project in Sombo
The photo shows a water pump in Sombo that is currently in need of repair. This pump, once operational, will significantly improve the community’s ability to access and distribute water for various uses, including irrigation. At the moment, a smaller backup pump is being used, but it is not powerful enough to meet the growing water demands, especially as we plan to expand farming activities in the area. A water cleansing system has already been installed to ensure that any water drawn is safe for both household and agricultural use. Repairing the main pump is a crucial next step toward improving water supply reliability and supporting long-term agricultural and community development.
Distribution of Sanitary Pads
We provide sanitary pads to teenage girls in the community as part of our efforts to promote menstrual hygiene and support their well-being. Many girls face challenges accessing these essential items, which can affect their confidence, health, and even school attendance. To create a lasting and meaningful impact, there is a need to provide these supplies on a regular basis. Establishing a periodic distribution system will help ensure that girls can manage their hygiene with dignity and consistency, contributing to better health outcomes and uninterrupted education.
